NEW YEAR - NEW ADVENTURE!
YES the New Year is almost upon us and our calendar is packed with plenty to keep you busy throughout 2013 - including news of a whole host of Open Water courses for those looking to take the plunge!
You can choose to qualify with us in the UK - with certification weekends at Capernwray - or you can join our brand new Ultimate Open Water Diver programme - and qualify with us in the wonderful waters of the Red Sea!
Open Water courses start in Stratford on January 12th, and then in February and April too. The first Open Water programme of the year to run in Coventry kicks-off on January 19th, with another starting in April. While in Rugby, the first course starts on January 26th, with others beginning in March and April too. Courses will also be running on weekday evenings at both of our new pools - one just outside Stratford and the other in Claverdon so watch this space!
Also brand new for 2013 is the launch of our Ultimate Open Water Diver programme - combining pool and theory training with us in Warwickshire ahead of a qualification week with us in Dahab, Egypt. What better way to become a diver! Especially when prices start at £999 - to include the full PADI course and 7 nights at the Red Sea!

 CHRISTMAS WITH SCOOBABOOSTA!THE festive season is well and truly upon us!
Join us for a glass of mulled wine at our usual social tomorrow - that's from 8pm at the Moorings on Friday, December 7th.
Then there's our annual Post-Christmas Dive! Join us at Stoney Cove on December 27th for fun diving, followed by drinks and mince pies!
The dive centre and showroom will be open until 2pm on Christmas Eve - we'll then be back to business as usual on January 2nd.

INTRODUCTION TO DIVEMASTER...
NEWS of another course new for 2013 - our Introduction to Divemaster programme.
This is designed for experienced divers unable to commit to the PADI Divemaster programme but nonetheless wanting to develop the standard of in-water skills and dive theory knowledge associated with a PADI Divemaster or Instructor.
Successful candidates who decide within 12 months of completion of this Introduction Course to enroll in the PADI Divemaster course with Scoobaboosta will find that the subjects covered in this Introduction meet many of the requirements of this course speeding progress to their Divemaster certification.

SPOOKY NIGHT FOR THE SEALS!
WE HAD a great Halloween Party with our Seal Teams at the start of November - combining a spooky night dive with plenty of fun and games - best reported on here by Instructor Paul Williams! A very big thank you to our organiser Nykki!
The PADI Seal Team programme now runs at each of our Saturday pool sessions - that's in Stratford, Rugby and Coventry. And we're hoping to start a Seal Team based in Warwick on a Saturday morning in the New Year too. For those aged 8+, the club introduces youngsters to the world of scuba through a series of aquamissions - all in a heated pool of course! Please call or email for more details on joining.

"The swimming pool at King Henry VIII was pitch black with only a soft glimmer from the underwater pumpkins, it was a strangely peaceful atmosphere but that was about to change. The calm faces of the Instructors suddenly changed to a pale terrified look, what could it be? Had the ghost of Lady Godiva arrived for Halloween, no much, much worse, even more scary, the seal teams had arrived.
"The seals took the plunge into darkness to complete their Night Diver Speciality, diving through the Black Pearl to find the elusive black witches and hoping to find the lucky pumpkins. Following the night dive the party started and all were hoping for a treat without the trick.... SORRY. The party was great fun for the Seal Team, parents and dive staff, with games including apple bobbing, flower sweet traps, doughnuts on a string and much more. A big thank you to the seals from Coventry, Stratford and Rugby for joining the party."

 TRAINING STARTS AT THE CROFT
TRAINING has now started at The Croft Pool - a private facility which can be found on the Banbury Road about 1.5 miles out of Stratford.
You'll now find us there on Wednesdays from 8.30pm.
Of course we're still at Stratford Leisure Centre, Rugby School and King Henry VIII School in Coventry on Saturdays too...

SCAPA FLOW: 2014
THANKS for all those who responded to our plea for 2013 Scapa Flow bookings in the last newsletter - but sadly this trip has now had to be postponed until 2014. Watch this space for the dates and details nearer the time...
We will of course have plenty of other opportunities for you to dive the UK coast next year - with 3 weekends in Weymouth and our usual 5 nights in Cornwall.

STRENGTHENING THE TEAM!
WE now have not one - but two Scubapro Service Technicians - with Kent Griffin qualifying!
David has been our regular Scubapro technician for many years but the volume has become overwhelming and in November Kent was able to join a small group at the Holiday Inn, Gatwick where Scubapro training manager James saw that he successfully completed his technician training through levels 1, 2 and 3, albeit over three gruelling days.
So now we have two technicians and much more capacity for servicing Scubapro equipment alongside the Poseidon, Mares, Apex and Aqualung that for now David will continue to handle.
David was quick to congratulate Kent: "The course is very thorough and meeting the exacting requirements of Scubapro when Kent had little prior experience is a considerable achievement. Well done!"
