I found the introduction course to be very well run and the instructors were most friendly, patient and helpful.
I was slightly apprehensive before starting but quickly gained confidence in breathing underwater and attempting the skills section.
Overall a great success and one which has left me deciding to learn to scuba dive properly.

"WELCOME to the February newsletter from ScoobaBoosta, here to keep you posted on all of our training, meets and holidays for the year ahead. "It's been a busy start to 2012, with packed pool sessions throughout the region. February looks set to be equally busy, with our return to the open water this month meaning even more chances to expand your scuba skills with us. We've also launched a new Facebook site and have now begun work on a new version of our online dive store. Then there's our revamped socials and so much more! THE big re-launch of ScoobaBoosta on Facebook took place in January. Our original site has now been replaced with a bigger, more interesting site, where we can all meet for up-to-date information on our programmes for this year. Many of you may not yet use Facebook and like some of us be a little confused and frightened by it – fear not; if you want help setting-up your personal account just to keep in touch with ScoobaBoosta, drop in and we'll help you to set up your own profile where you'll be able to see and hear up-to-the minute chat from the team and our friends. For reasons best known to the geeks who write software (apologies to those who make their living from writing software) hardly anyone ever found the old site and when they did, they didn't buy anything. So ScubaSaver is born and by the end of April will be offering a wide range of dive kit in a slick new format with competitive prices, easy payment options and rapid delivery. We'll keep you up-to-date with developments! Fancy a go on a rebreather? WE'VE had to re-schedule our rebreather try dive because of other committments - but we've had so much interest it will be happening soon. We'll start in the classroom, with Poseidon taking us through the preparation of their MK VI rebreather, followed by a chance to try it out in the pool. The evening will be available at just  £15 to CLUB-Scooba members and £25 to non-members. And we expect it to happen in the coming months, so watch this space!  BOOK NOW FOR SCAPA 2013! OUR May 2012 trip to The Orkneys sold out so fast that we've already booked our return next year! Join us for 7 nights diving the wrecks of Scapa Flow from May 4th 2013. Once again, we'll stay aboard Sunrise. The trip will be priced at around £435 for half board accommodation, good value as ever, with the details to be confirmed nearer the time! Shaken-up socials! WE'VE shaken up our socials for 2012 - with a number of meets planned, as well as our usual drink at The Moorings on the first Friday of each month . January saw the first of our new-look CLUB-Scooba socials, with the dive centre turned into a poker club for the evening! Now we thought when Simon offered to organise this evening that we were all going to be equal and we trusted that Simon was a beginner like the rest of us – by the end of the evening we all came away with a very different idea as Simon the organiser pocketed all the money, to the despair of Rob the mathematical genius!   The next time (and there will be a next time very soon) we'll all be better prepared. The next event will be on February 24th when we'll gather for a night of ten pin bowling.  We welcome all CLUB-Scooba members and with bowling and dinner on offer at just £9.99 per head, this promises to be another fab evening! OVER TO YOU! THE second installment of our new section where we hear from YOU! This month, Phil Berry tells us about ScoobaBoosta's recent link-up with an evironmentally conscious group of brownies... "Sarah and Neil Davison and myself became honorary brownies for a night when we helped teach the Napton Brownie Pack about the importance of recycling. Using ScoobaBoosta's  'Love A Turtle' presentation Neil, Sarah and I explained to the group the importance of why we recycle, how our rubbish can effect sea creatures and how long items take to degrade. The brownies started by searching for 'rubbish' around the hall, before a presentation. The reaction: "I didn't realise how long some things take to degrade" said Brown Owl Rosie. The brownies asked some great questions; from how turtles breathe to how turtles sleep. Come to the dive centre and we'll tell you the answer!" Now it's YOUR turn! Both Neil and Rob are well known to many of you and will continue to support our pool and open water training programmes as welcome additions to our growing staff. UPCOMING TRAINING: Night Dives Our monthly night dives at Stoney Cove continue. The next dive will run on February 15th, then March 21st. Anybody wanting to complete their Night Diver Speciality over 3 dives should contact us for availability. Self Reliant Diver The all-new Self Reliant Diver course, starting in the classroom on February 16th and finishing with three dives at Stoney Cove on the 18th. Seal Team We've a full programme of dates for 2012 in Stratford, Rugby and Coventry, just call for the details. Wreck Speciality To be run over two days at Stoney Cove on February 18th and 19th. Drysuit Speciality This course will run at Stoney Cove on February 19th. Supervised session We'll run a session for uncertified divers at our Coventry pool on February 25th. This is the first of our new programme where uncertified divers can come diving under the supervision of one of our instructors. Aimed at those completing their Open Water course with us later in the year, this is an opportunity to keep skills fresh until the certification programme comes around. It costs just £20 per head, including kit. EFR The Emergency First Response Instructor Course will run on March 8th. For budding instructors or those wishing to develop their instructional skills in First Aid this certification course will be run over just one day. Deep Speciality Running at Stoney Cove on March 10th and 11th. Sidemount Speciality We're running the Sidemount Speciality course over three evenings and one day, on March 12th, 13th and 14th, with completion at Capernwray over the weekend of March 17th and 18th.
